The Lost Arbiter

a man made for a fantasy story where he is a healer

In a world where magic and myths intertwine, there exists a legend, whispered through the ages. It is the tale of an arbiter—the one arbiter—who possesses the unparalleled gift of restoration: the ability to heal any wound, mend any broken object, and restore even the most shattered of souls. This arbiter, called Yusuf, is said to have vanished long ago, leaving behind only stories of a being who could undo the ravages of time, fixing what was beyond repair.

Yusuf was not a king, nor a warrior, but a humble figure. Their ability was not tied to wealth or power, but to a divine blessing that transcended human understanding. They were neither immortal nor bound by the constraints of age, but their gift made them seem so. The ability to restore all that was lost—to heal not only flesh but the very fabric of existence itself—was a miracle few could comprehend.

It was said that Yusuf had once wandered the world, a silent, compassionate figure moving from place to place, healing the sick, restoring broken objects, and helping civilizations rebuild after war.

Entire cities had risen from ruin under their touch. Kings and commoners alike would seek Yusuf’s presence, for they knew that the arbiter's hands could mend the threads of the world. But like all things that seem too perfect, Yusuf ’s time came to an end—or so it was believed.

One fateful day, after a particularly devastating war had torn a kingdom to pieces, Yusuf disappeared. One moment they were there, restoring the fallen soldiers, and the next, they were gone, as though the very earth had swallowed them whole. No traces of their presence remained, not even a footprint in the dirt. Some believed that Yusuf had simply chosen to vanish, weary of the world’s ceaseless demands. Others claimed that their powers had reached a limit, and the arbiter had faded into the ether, a fading echo of miracles gone by.

But as the centuries passed, the story of Yusuf, the Lost Arbiter, grew into a legend. A legend that fueled greed, ambition, and fear.
